Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Teachers and Students:

Thank you for taking the time and interest to view our school web page.  It is our desire to establish open communication with regards to important information and programs at Guilford Hills Elementary School.  It is our intent to make this site both informational and interactive to help guide and educate our students and parents.

Allow me to introduce myself.  I am the principal for both Falling Spring and Guilford Hills Elementary Schools. Prior to my currenct role, I supvervised the district's ESL program.  Additionally, I was a teacher in the district before moving into an administrative role.  I look forward to getting to know the Guilford Hills community and its many great offerings. 

 

In both Falling Spring and Guilford Hills Elementary Schools there are head teachers.  The head teachers act as a building level supervisor on many of the day-to-day issues and a valuable support with our highly active building level Parent Teacher Organization/Associations.  We work hand-in-hand to support student and parent needs'.  Our head teachers are very dedicated individuals with outstanding work ethics.

 

In terms of my philosophy about education of elementary students, I believe all schools should establish a building environment that have high expectations for students and where students feel safe.  When you enter any of our schools, you will be greeted with a smile from and be welcomed by our staff.  It is our commitment to make school a comfortable place for students to learn in an environment that challenges all students to the best of their ability.  We encourage parent participation and involvement within our schools.  If you are interested in becoming a parent volunteer please let us know.  We welcome your help and support.  Our curriculum focuses on integrating the expected standards with student interest as well as engaging our students in their learning.  You will find resarch based teaching practices along with integration of the latest technology to educate children.
